Wednesday, May 16: Punchestown Daily Double: #1 Robin Des Foret (Punchestown, 6.15pm)
We have two fancies over in Ireland in our Wednesday, May 16: Punchestown Daily Double.
Both are trained by Willie Mullins.
The first is promising young chaser Robin Des Foret and we like this one a lot.
The eight-year-old was a decent hurdler and landed a Listed contest at Limerick in October.
That was one of five wins from eight runs over hurdles.
In addition on the three times he met defeat he finished second.
That marks him out as a good one and he has also made a seamless transition to fences.
Robin Des Foret has run in one chase and won it by 17 lengths.
He is versatile with regards going and this trip should play to his strong jumping.
Furthermore, David Mullins takes the ride and he is firing at a 32% strike rate.
Wednesday, May 16: Punchestown Daily Double: #2 Come To Me (Punchestown, 7.15pm)
The second leg of our Wednesday, May 16: Punchestown Daily Double is also trained by Mullins.
With a strike rate of 34% in the last two weeks, he is definitely the trainer to follow.
Come To Me is a six-year-old son of Spanish Moon.
He is an interesting runner and makes his hurdles debut here.
His breeding is fascinating and he has only been sighted out once before.
That run came in a bumper here at Punchestown in December and he won comfortably.
We suspect Come To Me could be very good and we reckon he’ll make a winning start to life as a hurdler.
In addition, David Mullins takes the ride on this one too.
His current strike rate is discussed above.
