This Wednesday, July 11: England v Croatia Bet Builder goes big with some bold shouts for England to make the first final since ’66. And guess what the odds are? 66/1…

The stars have aligned, every other side can pack their bags and go home because England were always meant to win this World Cup. Ok, it may not be as straightforward as that. They come up against a strong Croatia side who have won their last two games on penalties. This side have turned over some strong opposition in this competition though. Nigeria, Argentina, Denmark and the host nation have all been victims of Modric and co. They have a couple of world class players in Modric and Rakitic but if England can nullify them, then they stand a great chance.

England looked impressive against Sweden, brushing them aside in a comfortable 2-0 win. They are confident, determined and playing well as a team. With Kane unstoppable from the penalty spot and the set-pieces looking dangerous every time, England will take some beating here. Croatia will struggle to break down the well-oiled defence and England have plenty of goal-scoring options. It won’t be easy but we’re backing an England win.

Yellow for Young

Young is feisty and will be pumped up for this game. He surely can’t go the whole tournament without a booking to his name. His disciplinary record is pretty poor in the premier league, having picked up 57 yellow cards and 1 red in his 327 games. He saw yellow seven times in last season’s league campaign and isn’t shy of getting stuck in. We’re backing him to get one in this game too.

Maguire again!

Maguire’s header against Sweden set up the win and gave us confidence that he can do it again. Firstly, his head is enormous. Secondly, England’s set pieces are a major threat. They will be looking to pump it into the box as much as possible in hope that Stones, Kane and Maguire can get their head on it. Maguire banged in two goals for Leicester last season and gets himself in dangerous positions at corners. We’re rooting for Harry to slot another goal in and write himself into England’s football hall of fame.
