This Tuesday, May 15: Championship Bet Builder has three selections in it that is banking on an exciting game but the home side to come through.

Villa’s home record this season has done enough to convince us they’ll win this one. Wolves and Cardiff aside, they had the best home form from the rest of the division only losing two games. Their ability to score goals was key, netting 42 from their 23 games. The first leg gave us no real clues as to what might happen in this second game. It will be close but home advantage and experience from the Villa side should pay dividends.

The corners shout seems like the safest of the three options. Both sides average over nine corners per game this season and the nature of a second leg normally lends itself to high corner ratios. The first leg had 12 corners so it seems safe to pick over 8.

Who is Lewis Grabban and why do we think he’ll score?

Journeyman seems the right word to describe Grabban. He’s had 12 clubs in his career (including signing for Bournemouth twice!), which includes numerous loan spells. Grabban’s impressive form on loan for Sunderland early this season saw him request to be recalled to Bournemouth. He finished Sunderland’s top scorer with thirteen goals, despite only playing 20 games and leaving in January!

Grabban joined Villa on loan 31 January 2018 and made an immediate impact. He has banged in seven goals in thirteen games making him the second highest goal-scorer in the Championship with twenty goals. He has Premiership experience and looks a cut above in the Championship. And guess what? His last two home games has seen him net a goal.
