This Saturday, May 26: Championship Play Off Final Bet Builder is backing the form side to steam back up to the Premier League after a few seasons out.

We are backing Fulham to make a triumphant return to the top tier after four seasons in the wilderness that is the Championship. This won’t be easy though. They’re coming up against an Aston Villa side packed with experience and quality. Villa have Terry, Snodgrass and Grabban who have all been involved in Premier League setups. However, Fulham are a bit tasty.

Only five points separated them in the final league standings, with Fulham netting seven more goals but conceding four more than Villa. Their last meeting was quite a one-sided affair that Fulham dominated, winning 2-0. They had 63% possession and 14 goal attempts.

Add to that, Fulham are in superb form and their second half to the season was excellent. If you take the final game of the season out of the equation when Fulham had nothing to play for, they won 13 and drew 4 of their last 17 games. They will be marginal favourites to win this one and we’re confident they can do it.

Who is Aleksander Mitrovic and why will he score?

Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic is a Serbian striker on loan from Newcastle United, who paid £13 million for him back in 2015. He joined the Premier League after a successful two year stint at Anderlecht where he scored 44 goals in 90 games. He won the Belgian League in his first campaign at the club, and was the league’s top scorer in his second. Since joining Newcastle, he has had issues with injuries and form that led him to a loan move to Fulham. Make no mistake though, Mitrovic is international quality, he has over 30 caps for Serbia. He has banged in 12 goals for Fulham and was pivotal in them making the play-offs. Fulham will definitely create chances and Mitrovic will be there to finish them.

Why over 1.5 goals?

Both sides have averaged well over 1.5 goals per game this league season. Both of their meetings this season ended over 1.5 goals and the way Fulham play, it is hard to see this being low scoring.
