This Saturday, August 8: Euro Acca has four selections to win with three at home and one slightly risky away shout in France.

Monaco will have been relatively pleased with their campaign last season. Second place in the league to the unstoppable PSG and runners up in the League Cup (to PSG). There’s not much they can do about PSG and their gigantic budget but they will want to improve on their Champions League performances and possibly win a domestic cup. They have a tricky first game away at Nantes. The hosts finished 9th last season and actually were one of the few sides to beat Monaco last season. However, that is the only time in the last ten head-to-heads that Nantes have won with Monaco winning eight and one draw. At better than evens, Monaco are well worth the risk here.

St Leige have had an unbeaten start to their season having finished runners up last season. They host a newly promoted side in Cercle Brugge who haven’t played Leige for three years. Their last three head-to-heads went the way of St Leige and we can see only one result.

PSV begin their quest to retain the league title at home to Utrecht. They walloped Utrecht 3-0 and 7-1 last season and have a hold over their visitors. Their last five head-to-heads have all gone PSV’s way. Utrecht finished a respectable fifth place but were just shy of 30 points behind PSV. At 1/2 odds on, PSV are clear favourites but even that represents a generous price.

Fenerbahce host a Bursaspor side that were operating at the other end of the table last season.  The visitors finished sixth from bottom, six points off the drop zone. Fenerbahce on the other hand ended up second to Galatasaray in a tense climax to the league. They scored the most goals in the division and beat Bursaspor twice last season. Home win seems very likely.
