The Chennai Super Kings v Delhi Daredevils looks a bit of a mis-match on their IPL11 standings.
Whilst Delhi sit down the bottom of the table we pick out two who will be looking to produce good performances.
Boylesports are offering your stake back as a free bet if your team score over 175 runs but lose the match.
Shreyas Iyer isn’t the biggest name in the IPL but has performing well for some time.
He won the emerging IPL player of the tournament in 2015/2016 and hasn’t looked back since.
This lad had a slow start for the Daredevils this season with a high score of 27* from his first four matches.
Since then he has notched three fifties in a row with scores 52, 57 and a spectacular 93*. The last game saw him take over the captaincy from Gautam Gambhir and it seems to suit him.
That was only Dehli’s second win of the season. That 93* came against Kolkata Knight Riders and included a massive ten sixes. Put simply, this guy can play and he will be crucial to saving DD’s season.
We like backing captains and we think Iyer looks good value to be top run scorer for his side.
We are glad Liam Plunkett is getting a chance in this years IPL. The England fast bowler has proved himself as one of the best limited overs fast bowlers in the world over recent times.
He has consistently produced the goods on the international one day and T20 scene.
Plunkett didn’t feature for the Daredevils for the first few matches but he has played in the last two. Whilst a proven international performer he seems to have taken a few by surprise in those games.
He started with an excellent three wickets in his first match against KXIP. He then followed that up wicketless, but only conceding 24 runs from his four overs, against KKR.
He is a partnership breaker and seems difficult to hit big against. He bowls a heavy ball and gains considerable bounce from a high release.
He will surely retain his place after two very good performances and we expect another here.
